About
The Leucaena Network
Grassroots Base
The Leucaena Network welcomes all who have an interest in the responsible use of Leucaena pastures and the Network works to ensure that production and environmental benefits of Leucaena are maximised while the weed impact of Leucaena is minimised.
The Leucaena Network plays an important advocacy role with Government to ensure that the utilisation of Leucaena pastures by the Australian beef industry is conducted in a responsible and accountable way.
Code of Practice
For more than 20 years, The Leucaena Code of Practice, developed by The Leucaena Network, has guided the responsible establishment and management of the Australian Leucaena industry. The Network continues to assess the efficacy of the existing Code and undertakes ongoing reviews to ensure it remains an effective tool in our industry's self-regulation. The Network collaborates with government and industry to develop a Code of Practice to meet individual State and Territory regulatory requirements.
Organisational Structure
An annually elected Executive Committee is supported by graziers, researchers, extension officers and other stakeholders. The Executive committee meets regularly throughout the year and provides ongoing support and guidance for the Executive Officer and staff. The Leucaena Network adheres to the standard rules of incorporation.
Accountability
All policies - operational and fiscal - are reported to the membership on an ongoing basis, through the Annual General Meeting, the 'Network News' newsletter, The Leucaena Network website and social media.

Promotional Activities
The Leucaena Network promotes the benefits of the Leucaena grass pastures system through media and ongoing contact with research and government agencies. The Network regularly holds field days, seminars and workshops to transfer up-to-date information. The Leucaena Network actively identifies research, development and extension opportunities for the benefit of the red-meat industry.

Responsible Development
The Leucaena Network organises training and workshops for graziers and stakeholders to ensure new and existing producers and extension personnel understand the basics of responsibly growing and managing Leucaena and companion grass pastures. The Leucaena Network aims to keep the industry up to date with the latest developments of the Leucaena/grass pasture systems including new Leucaena varieties, establishment and management techniques.
Capacity Building
The Leucaena Network is working to ensure new and established producers have access to qualified and experienced extension personnel through the provision of industry focussed 'Introduction to Leucaena' workshops and field days. The Network is also committed to recognition of the increased enterprise value and viability with the introduction of Leucaena-grass grazing systems through providing opportunities for financial and advisors to get 'on-farm' to experience first hand the benefits of Leucaena.
